Tonopah Mining District, Nye County, Nevada
Compiled and published by William J. Moran, U.S. Mineral Surveyor. Formerly Macdonald and Moran.
San Francisco: Britton & Rey, 1912. First edition.
The Tonopah silver strike, in 1900, sparked the last big precious metal find in the West. This is one of the best-known and most attractive maps of the district, and it was published as the mines were reaching their peak.

Today, Tonopah is a small town of 2,000 residents, and the mines have been turned into the Tonopah Historic Mining Park. Scarce. OCLC records three copies (University of Nevada, Reno; Huntington Library; Denver Public Library).
In very good condition, with some old, light dampstains in the upper corners and some offsetting from the lower roller. There is a label from a mapseller affixed to the bottom edge.
