Bodmer painted this view of a large gathering of Piegan (Blackfoot) Indians in the 1830s. He captured a sea of teepees and members of the tribe in various styles of dress. Horses and dogs also mill around the scene. The image measures roughly 12 by 17 inches and is much cleaner and brighter than usual. There is a small stain below the base of the image (but not affecting the print) and there are faint vertical lines from an offset of type from the back. Archivally matted.
